No matter how you define your fitness or training goals; no matter what 'finish lines' are ahead of you...Chicago Endurance Sports (CES) will help you train to be your best. Click here to go to the CES website for more information, or see below for upcoming training programs.
Are you interested in running your first-ever 5K or half- marathon? Does improving your race results, or setting a new 'Personal Record' interest you? Whatever your goals, we can help you turn "what if" into "what is." It's a process. A journey. And 'journeys' are what we're all about.
While you focus on reaching your destination, our Coaches focus on making sure you get there...without injury, and with a smile on your face. The Coaches make sure you're training at a level that is most appropriate for you, as an individual; and make suggestions that will improve your form, efficiency and endurance. They know about body and muscle physiology, and about mental toughness; and they'll encourage and challenge you to step (or cycle, or swim, or stretch) outside of your 'comfort zone.'
As part of your training experience,†you'll have the opportunity to participate in a variety of seminars and clinics which will add to your overall level of fitness, and help build your wellness education. Expert instructors share what they've learned in subjects such as: Core Performance For Runners; Stretching and Injury Prevention; Strength Training; Yoga For Runners; "Food As Fuel"; Heart Rate Monitor Training; and Mental Skills Training. Additional clinics unique to triathlon and cycling training include Swimming Technique; Triathlon Transitions; Cycling Skills; Understanding Bike Maintenance and Equipment.
CES participants come in all shapes and sizes; in all degrees of fitness; and with diverse cultural and professional backgrounds. But one thing they all have in common is their desire and ambition to make themselves healthier and happier people.
It's 6:00 AM...IN THE MORNING! When you begin to train, it will probably cross your mind to ask yourself, "Am I nuts? What am I doing up at 6 o'clock on a Saturday morning?" The answer will become apparent the first time you run along the Lakefront at†dawn; or when yours are the first footprints in the freshly fallen snow on the running path; or as you're greeted by the welcoming smiles on the faces of your training peers.
There will be 'a moment' in your journey with us, when your head, your heart and your body will all believe that you will reach your goal. Sometime during your training, you will become aware that you will finish your first-ever 5K. That you can complete the marathon.
It is an amazing moment. And it will happen to you.
