The 14th annual Pumpkins in the Park 5K is Chicago's Official Halloween race for the whole family! 5K participants enjoy a winding course through beautiful Lincoln Park then celebrate at the post-race party featuring costume contests.

The CLIF Kid Spooky Sprints are for kids 12 and under. Other kid-friendly activities include pumpkin decorating, and a children's costume parade.

Event Beneficiary

Proceeds from the Pumpkins in the Park 5K go toward the Chicago Park District's Theater on the Lake: The Chicago Summer Theater Festival. Located in Chicago's beautiful lakefront in Lincoln Park, proceeds help Theater on the Lake maintain its 60-year tradition of showcasing Chicago's most innovative and electrifying theater.

All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable

Timing

The Pumpkins in the Park 5K uses the Chronotrack B-Tag Timing System. Timing devices will be distributed at Packet Pick-Up.

2 and under - 10 yard crawl/dash
3-5 years - 20 yard dash
6-7 years - 50 yard dash
8-9 years - 100 yard dash
10-12 years - ¼ mile

Course

The 5K course runs through beautiful Lincoln Park. Water and Gatorade is available at the hydration station. Click here for a pdf of the course map.

Transportation and Parking

Help us reduce our carbon footprint! Fleet Feet Sports highly recommends carpooling, using public transportation, or riding your bicycle to the event.

To determine the best route to travel via public transportation, please visit the CTA's trip planner.
Bicycle parking will be available at the race site.

Limited street parking may be available. Paid parking is available at the Chicago History Museum lot, (Clark and LaSalle, with the entrance on Stockton Drive ) or in the Lincoln Park Zoo Lot (on Cannon Drive, just south of Fullerton) on a first come, first serve basis.

Awards

The top three overall male and female finishers will receive awards
Age group awards will be given to the top three finishers; age division results will be posted at the Fleet Feet Sports tent after the race, winners may pick-up thier award at that time
The costume contest winners will also be presented with awards

Weather Policy

The Pumpkins in the Park 5K will take place rain or shine. If cancellation of the event is warranted due to dangerous weather conditions, announcements will be made race day at the race site. The event will not be canceled in advance. All decisions regarding cancellation will be made on site, race day.
