| About the Run
C'mon everybody, let's rock!
Join us for the 11th Annual Elvis Is Alive 5K, where we're all shook up! For the record, the event will feature the same great party, but will be held at a new time and place.
Our new place to dwell.
The 5K run will be held at 6:30pm on Thursday, August 7, 2008, in Grant Park's Upper Hutchinson Field at the corner of Balbo and Columbus Drives.
Don't be lonesome tonight!
Enjoy a summer evening in the park with your friends! Come run the 5K, then hang out on the lawn, listen to some great music and enjoy Goose Island Beer (for participants aged 21 & over) and other refreshments.
Race Charity
The proceeds from the Elvis Is Alive 5K will benefit Rock for Reading to help fight the rising trend of illiteracy and renew interest in reading.
Rock for Reading was founded by Chicagoan Alice Peacock, a nationally recognized
singer and
songwriter.
No Boundaries - Training Program
No Boundaries is a beginners training program for the first time walk/runner. This program will motivate and educate beginners to improve their fitness and develop the habits of a healthy lifestyle while preparing for the Elvis Is Alive 5K. Stay tuned for more programs details.
