Choosing a sports bra...

a few tips >

new arrivals
If you’re running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon or another fall marathon now is the time to buy your race shoes.

The shoes you purchased to begin your training do not have the same cushion and protection since you first ran in them. A typical running shoe lasts for about 300-500 miles or about 10-12 weeks of marathon training mileage.

Ideally, you want to run your race in a pair of shoes that have been tested on one or two long runs. The shoes should have enough mileage on them to be comfortably broken in, but still feel relatively fresh for the 26.2 miles.

If the shoes you’ve trained in have worked well for you, then it is a good idea to stick with same style and size. If you’ve experienced problems through your training, then it is a good idea to be fitted for a new pair.

Stop by Fleet Feet Sports where we live by this cardinal rule: do not buy your shoes based on color! Focus on the fit, not appearance. It will be much more beneficial for you in the long run.

Brooks BioMoGo and Reengineered Shoe Boxes
Brooks has taken the long-lasting cushioning of their original MoGo midsole and made it more environmentally friendly. By introducing a non-toxic, natural additive to the MoGo compound anaerobic microbes break down more quickly in a landfill. While traditional midsoles can last up to 1,000 years in a landfill, Brooks BioMoGo will decompose 50 times faster, biodegrading nutrients into reusable byproducts within 20 years.

The new Brooks show box is printed using a single-color, less energy-intensive flexographic printing process, and water-based inks and adhesives that are cleaner and better on the environment. Brooks also optimized box dimensions for a tighter fit saving 150 tons of paper annually, reduced shoe box tissue by 25%, and moved to chlorine-free tissue that is better for the environment.
