We’ve been preaching this for years: Merino wool is awesome for summer, too! How does that work, doesn’t wool keep you warm? It’s true; Merino wool is great for layering up in the winter months, especially for running. Merino sheep see two different extremes down in New Zealand – hottest of hot and the coldest of cold. Their wool adapts to the temperature differential and they produce this amazing fiber.
If wool is good for the sheep in the summertime, it can be great for you too! We’ve got performance AND lifestyle pieces for both Men and Women. (Lifestyle pieces are great for travel!) Just stop by our Fleet Feet Sports-Old Town location to learn more about this miracle fiber.
Knit with Icebreaker’s 145gm eyelet corespun mesh fabric, the Comet Lite Singlet and Cap Sleeve Tee are made for performance. Corespun fibers are a nylon core wrapped in Merino for extra durability. Additionally, Tencel ® is added for faster dry time.
Cool-Lite Sphere was developed by Icebreaker a few seasons back as a light-weight Merino wool option for summer. The fabric is a Merino Wool/Tencel/Nylon blend designed for both performance and lifestyle. Makes a great travel piece.
