July is a time for fireworks and Mizuno is setting off a few with the introduction of two new models for those runners who want to go fast: the Mizuno Wave Shadow and the Mizuno Wave Sonic.
Mizuno is saying goodbye to the Wave Sayonara with the debut of the Wave Shadow as their neutral and lightweight training shoe that’s perfect for both uptempo runs and interval workouts.
The Shadow utilizes a new midfoot CloudWave with U4icX heel cushioning for a more responsive ride under the foot and combined with a U4icX strobel lining, the shoe offers a softer landing and what Mizuno calls a ‘snappier’ toe off.
The drop, or offset between the heel and forefoot, has been lowered to 8mm in the Wave Shadow from the 10mm drop of the Sayonara to provide a more natural feet through the gait cycle.
A new forefoot zig-zag flex pattern on the outsole of the Shadow offers optimal flexibility while X10 rubber provides reliable durability. The Wave Shadow is completed with a redesigned 3-panel upper with Dynamotion fit to offer a seamless feel through the midfoot along with excellent forefoot breathability.
Looking for something that will have a little more of a faster feel on your feet? Then check out the new Wave Sonic, a versatile racing flat great for any distance or workouts on the track and road.
The Wave Sonic uses a new midfoot U4icX Wave construction – it doesn’t have that distinctive looking ‘wave plate’ in the midsole – for a springy feel with ample cushioning for longer distances. The increased and aggressive toe spring pairs with the zig zag design of the outsole for a quicker toe off.
The Sonic has a 4mm heel to toe offset to offer a natural sensation through the gait cycle while maintaining a close to the road feel. The Sonic uses a thin, seamless upper for a glove-like, close to the foot fit that shaves ounces off the weight and limits any irritation against the skin.
So double up on the speed with this pair of lightweight and fast shoes from Mizuno. The Wave Shadow is available at our Old Town, Lincoln Square, Lakeview and South Loop locations while the Wave Sonic is available at Old Town only.
