Walk in the footsteps of literary luminaries and native sons Ernest Hemingway and Edgar Rice Burroughs while discovering the architectural genius of Frank Lloyd Wright in his Unity Temple – his only surviving public building – and the Prairie style homes he designed along the quiet residential streets of Oak Park. Enjoy the beautiful and walkable downtown – and listen to jazz and sample food from local restaurants – at Thursday Night Out during the summer or take in other festivals like the Uncork Illinois Wine Festival, the European flair of the Art dans la Rue or Oaktoberfest in the autumn. Opening in April 2015 as the newest member of the Fleet Feet Sports ‘family’ – and boldly reimagining the Marion Street location where Competitive Foot proudly served the Oak Park community since 1974 until the owners retired in 2014 – Fleet Feet Sports continues that commitment of providing exceptional customer service and support to the running community of Oak Park and the surrounding suburbs. The new location will sponsor the annual Good Life 5K – for years known as The Race That’s Good For Life – one of the notable early-season races on the Chicagoland running calendar.
