What is your racing focus?
10k to Marathon

People, Places and Things

People: Who are some influential runners in your life?
The team and coaches at Grand Valley State really shaped who I am today
Places: What is your favorite place to run and why?
Around the Chicago area my favorite place to run is Waterfall Glen. I love being in the middle of the woods and running on soft surface.
Things: favorite running gear?
Nothing beats a great visor.

Race rituals

What is your go-to pre-workout or race meal?
Bagel with peanut butter, coffee and Generation UCAN
What is your favorite way to celebrate a good race?
Depends on the day, but it normally involves food

Past and future

What is your most memorable running moment?
Most memorable moment for me was the 2015 Garry Bjorklund half marathon, where I qualified for US Olympic Marathon Trials for the first time. Crossing the finish line and the realization of what had happened is something I'll never forget.
What are some of your goals for 2018?
Biggest goal is to get healthy. After that, I would like to race the Chicago Marathon again and be in the top 10 Americans (I was 11th last year so that has been haunting me a bit). I also want to get back on the XC course and take a chance to make a US team.
