New for 2013! All registered participants of the 17th Annual Ravenswood Run will receive a gender-specific, short-sleeve technical shirt provided by Mizuno. Also new this year: A post-race pancake breakfast presented by Ravenswood Community Services. For only a $10 donation you will be able to enjoy a delicious post race pancake breakfast and know 100% of your $10 donation, which equals 100 pounds of food for the food pantry, will benefit the Ravenswood Community Services Food Pantry at All Saints' Episcopal Church. 

 

Experience this top-notch event with a community feel. This unique 5K is truly a neighborhood race, running through scenic city streets, and benefiting two local charities.

 

   

 

The Ravenswood Run, a neighborhood 5K is once again a CARA Certified Race and new this year, it is also a  CARA Certified Green Race. Please contact CARA for more information on CARA Certified Races and the CARA discount for current CARA members to register for this race.

 

Beneficiary

The proceeds from the Ravenswood Run benefit the Ravenswood Community Services Food Pantry at All Saints' Episcopal Church and the Student Health Centers at Lake View and Amundsen High Schools.

 

Race Shirt

NEW this year! All registered participants will now receive a gender-specific, short-sleeve, Mizuno technical shirt, designed exclusively for the Ravenswood Run! Please select carefully as shirt sizes and quantities are fixed and we are unable to exchange shirt sizes.

 

Pancake Breakfast

$10 = 100 pounds of food. Help RCS feed even more of our hungry neighbors with your purchase of a post-race pancake breakfast. Your donation means that others will eat too. RCS serves the Ravenswood and Uptown neighborhoods – help those who are in our neighborhood.


Training Program

Looking for a group to help you train for the Ravenswood Run? Chicago Endurance Sports is offering a No Boundaries training program, perfect for those looking to run their first 5K or returning to running after a bit of a hiatus, kicking off at Fleet Feet Sports – Old Town on February 7th at 6:30pm.  (First group run will be the week of February 21st)

 

Entry Limit

The Ravenswood Run is limited to a maximum of 3,500 entrants. Registration for the event will close once the limit has been reached. Race week or race day registration may not be available.

All registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.

 

Hunger Is Here - You Can Help

Ravenswood Community Services provides groceries, meals and more to neighbors throughout Ravenswood and surrounding neighborhoods. Your participation in the Ravenswood Run directly supports the work of the organization. You can also help by participating in the food drive and by making monetary donations.


Bring a food item* with you when you pick-up your packet at Fleet Feet Sports or on race day. If you choose to make a monetary donation you can do so during online registration or at packet pick-up. Thanks for your extra effort and support!


Timing

The Ravenswood Run is using the latest in race timing technology, the Chronotrack B-Tag Timing System.  Timing devices will be distributed at Packet Pick-Up.

Transportation and Parking

If you plan on driving, we recommend the following parking options

Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Clinic Parking Lots located at Wilson and Ravenswood
Parking Garage (standard parking fees apply): Damen Ave and Sunnyside (entrance on Damen)
Ravenswood School : 4332 N. Paulina St. (enter through the alley)
McPherson School : 4728 N. Wolcott Ave. (enter from Lawrence Ave.)
Surface Lot : 4501 N. Damen (not in parking tower, enter on Damen)
Ravenswood Bank: 2300 W. Lawrence Ave.
Courtenay School: 1726 W. Berteau Ave. (enter on Hermatage)
Ravenswood Ave :  Between Lawrence and Foster

We strongly encourage carpooling, riding your bike or taking public transportation to the event as parking is very limited in this area.


Help us reduce our carbon footprint! Fleet Feet Sports highly recommends carpooling, using public transportation, or riding your bicycle to the event. To determine the best route to travel via public transportation, please visit the CTA's trip planner.

 

Bicycle parking will be available at the race site near the start/finish area.

 

Limited street parking is available along Ravenswood Ave. between Addison St. and Foster Ave. and the Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Clinic Parking Lots located at Wilson and Ravenswood. Additional parking details will be posted as they become available.

 

Awards

Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers.
Age group awards will be given to the top three finishers in each of the following age divisions: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and over. (Top three overall male and top three overall female finishers are not included in age division awards.)

 

Awards presentation to begin at approximately 9:15am.

Weather Policy

The Ravenswood Run will take place rain or shine. If cancellation of the event is warranted due to dangerous weather conditions, announcements will be made race day at the race site. The event will not be canceled in advance. All decisions regarding cancellation will be made on site, race day.
